Drone Troubleshooting
Step-by-step fixes for the most common drone issues — from power problems to camera glitches to GPS errors.
Drone won't power on
- Check that the battery is charged above 20% and fully inserted.
- Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds (not a tap).
- Try a different battery if available.
- Inspect the battery contacts for corrosion or debris.
No GPS signal or weak GPS lock
- Move to an open outdoor area away from buildings, trees, and metal structures.
- Wait 2–3 minutes for the drone to acquire satellites (cold start takes longer).
- Perform a compass calibration if you've moved more than 50 km since last calibration.
- Disable any VPN or location spoofing apps on your mobile device.
App disconnects during flight
- Check that your mobile device is not in low-power or battery-saver mode.
- Keep the app in the foreground — background mode kills the connection on some devices.
- Try a USB connection instead of Wi-Fi if your controller supports it.
- Reinstall the app to clear any corrupted cache.
Camera gimbal not levelling
- Place the drone on a flat surface before powering on.
- Run the gimbal auto-calibration in the app under Camera > Gimbal Calibration.
- Check for physical debris or obstruction around the gimbal arm.
- If the gimbal vibrates or grinds, contact support — internal damage may be present.
Drone flies erratically or drifts
- Calibrate the IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) in a flat, vibration-free area.
- Check that all propellers are correctly seated and locked (listen for the click).
- Recalibrate the compass away from metal and electronic interference.
- Reset the aircraft settings to factory defaults and reconfigure.
Battery drains faster than expected
- Cold weather significantly reduces battery capacity — store batteries warm before flying.
- High-wind conditions increase motor load and reduce flight time.
- Check battery health in the app — cells below 80% health need replacement.
- Reduce payload weight or camera resolution to extend flight time.
Video feed is lagging or cutting out
- Reduce distance to the controller to improve signal strength.
- Switch to 2.4 GHz if 5.8 GHz is congested in your area (app > Transmission).
- Ensure no large metal objects or structures are between drone and controller.
- Check for interference from nearby Wi-Fi routers, power lines, or radio towers.
