AgroSpray T40
A 40-litre tank, 10-metre spray width, AI terrain-following, and RTK GPS precision in one platform. The T40 is the benchmark for professional crop spraying operations.
The AgroSpray T40 is our top-selling agricultural drone for a reason: it combines serious payload capacity with AI-assisted field navigation to deliver consistent, accurate spray coverage at a rate that makes commercial operations viable. At 40 acres per hour, a single T40 replaces significant manual or tractor-based spraying resource.

40-Litre Tank: Serious Payload, Serious Productivity
The T40's 40-litre tank is the platform's most important feature in operational terms. At typical application rates of 15 litres per hectare, a full tank covers approximately 2.7 hectares before a refill is needed. With two operators — one flying, one managing refills and battery swaps — an uninterrupted working day can see 60–80 hectares treated. At 40 acres per hour in ideal conditions, the T40 outpaces most alternative methods on medium to large farms with variable terrain.
AI Terrain-Following at 3m AGL
Spray efficacy depends critically on consistent spray height above the crop canopy. Too high and droplet drift increases and coverage decreases. Too low and the downwash creates turbulence that lifts spray off the target. The T40's AI terrain-following system uses a combination of radar altimetry and a topographic model built from the mission planning scan to maintain a 3-metre height above ground level across the entire field — including slopes, berms, and drainage channels.
The system responds to terrain changes within 100ms, which at a 5 m/s operating speed means height adjustments happen before the drone has moved more than half a metre past the change. This is faster than any human pilot can react.
Variable Rate Spraying
Variable rate application is where precision agriculture delivers its strongest ROI. By importing an NDVI or prescription map from a previous scouting flight or the FieldMapper M10, the T40 automatically adjusts spray flow rate — up to 7.2 L/min on high-stress zones, down to 3.6 L/min on healthy areas — so chemicals are applied where they're needed rather than uniformly across the field. Field trials across corn and soybean operations have documented input savings of 20–35% with equivalent or better pest and disease outcomes.
RTK GPS: 2cm Accuracy
Standard GPS achieves 1–3 metre accuracy, which is inadequate for precision application adjacent to field boundaries, watercourses, or sensitive crop zones. The T40's RTK system — using a base station positioned at the field edge — achieves 2cm horizontal accuracy. This means spray tracks overlap by exactly the programmed amount, headland turns are executed at precisely the right point, and field boundaries are respected to within centimetres rather than metres.
Regulatory Requirements for Agricultural Drone Spraying
Agricultural drone spraying is subject to regulations beyond standard drone operation in most jurisdictions. In the US, pesticide application by drone requires compliance with EPA label requirements that specify permitted application methods — not all pesticide labels currently permit aerial drone application. Many US states also require a commercial pesticide applicator licence for the operator, independent of FAA Part 107 certification.
In the EU, agricultural drone spraying typically falls under the Specific category and requires an operational authorisation. The UK CAA has specific guidance for agricultural drone spraying operations. Our team provides regulatory guidance for your jurisdiction as part of the purchase process.
ROI Analysis
At $8,500 purchase price, a T40 operating at 40 acres per hour and charging $12–15 per acre for contract spraying services generates $480–600 revenue per working hour. At 200 operating hours per season, annual revenue potential of $96,000–$120,000 is achievable from a single unit. Even accounting for operator costs, maintenance, and regulatory compliance, payback periods under two seasons are common for contractors operating in high-value crop regions.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many batteries do I need for a full day's operation?
For continuous operation covering 40+ hectares, we recommend a minimum of 6 batteries — two flying, two charging, two in reserve. The rapid charger provided with the T40 achieves a full charge in approximately 45 minutes.
Does the T40 work with any chemicals?
The T40 tank and nozzle system are compatible with liquid pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, and foliar fertilisers. Oil-based products and products with high solid content (some biological preparations) should be checked against the compatibility list in the manual. We do not recommend thick suspension concentrates without prior consultation.
Can I use the T40 without RTK?
Yes — the T40 can operate in standard GPS mode (1–3m accuracy) without the RTK base station. RTK is strongly recommended for precision application and boundary-accurate operations, but standard GPS mode is suitable for low-precision applications such as bulk foliar feeding.
What training is required for operators?
We recommend a minimum of two days of operator training before commercial deployment. We offer on-site training as an optional service at purchase. All operators should hold the appropriate licence for commercial UAV operation in their country and, where required, a commercial pesticide applicator licence.
